AEM CAI ?
I just got my AEM CAI and I was wondering how hard it is to install
is there any cutting involved? [Modified by ITR #1202, 3:17 PM 10/15/2001] |
Re: AEM CAI ? (ITR #1202)
If you plan to install the bypass valve then yes, you do have to cut the intake. If you don't want to install the bypass, then install is a snap with no cutting involved. Depending on experience, it takes anywhere from 15 min to ???

Not very hard, but here's some tips.
1. Remove the strut tower bar. 2. Buy a longer breather hose, the one that comes in the kit is too short. (You'll need to cut the new one to length. So yes, cutting is involved) 3. If you plan to replace the stock coolant tubing with the rubber hose that came with the kit, have a vise grip handy and a towel. Also where safety goggles in case some of the coolant splashes in your face. Or you can just drain the radiator a tiny bit and refill it after you're done. |

Hmmm...better make that time approximation 3 hours hehe.
For the record, I cut nothing during my install. [Modified by Darth VadeR, 10:29 AM 10/15/2001] |
