Default 1997 ITR IACV Part Number?

I'm looking to restore a 97 ITR and a new IACV is one of the many things I need. I called my acura dealer and they said it would cost $521 to special order one which seemed insane to me.

Does anyone happen to know the part number and if it is shared by other types of integras or civics as well?

I'd like to get a new OEM one without breaking the bank

Valve Assembly, Electronic Air Control (Denso) - Acura (36450-P6T-S01) - $280.57

brand new from Acura. Its the same part number for all ITR motors. Even GSR too I believe.

These rarely fail, and usually just need a good cleaning with brake cleaner. Are you confident it has failed electrically?

I've had them fail. Also the ones from a non VTEC motor will bolt up, but have smaller ports and don't keep up as well. I've even tried porting the non VTEC to the VTEC size but they still do not perform the same, required more duty cycle.

Both the Intermotor and Wells and Duralast brand IACVs you can buy at the local parts store or RockAuto.com are the exact same Denso-brand that Honda sells (even has the same inspection stamps on it). You don't have to pay the extremely high dealer prices.

BTW: New ones include a new gasket.

Autozone ususally has 20%off coupon codes and free shipping (somteimes with bonus gift-cards). They include a lifetime warranty (Honda parts are only 1 year warranty). Also you can return them to the local store if you want your money back.

PS: As mentioned, they don't usually fail. But the definitely do get "slow" with age. Usually replacing one will not fix an idle problem. It will just help to smooth it a little. I actually returned mine because it didn't make much difference and didn't solve my startup problem.
