Just got done boosting my LS and need a clutch. Due to a lack of $ I'm looking around to find a cheaper clutch for my hp goal of 270whp. Has anyone here tryed any of the clutches on ebay such as the XTR series?
I was looking at the stage three. Are they reliable clutches or are they the ss autocrome of clutches
Heres the one I was looking at

I was looking at those clutches myself. Was very tempted into getting one but then there's that saying, "You get what you pay for" plus I did a search and most of the people that got one liked it in the beginning. But the ones that had it for after a couple of months said it was crap. So i just waited a little longer so I could afford an Exedy clutch. Sorry I don't have any personal experience with them.

i just put an XTD stage 3 in my integra about 2 weeks ago...i finally finished breakin it in, and let me tell ya, that **** is the best clutch i have ever had....i like it better than the exedy stage 3 i had on my lsvtec last year. the xtd holds alot of power and so far ive heard nothing but good things....i saw one guy who broke the disc into pieces but he was auto x'in and i dont do any of that so there shouldnt be an enormous amount of stress on my clutch. for $140 off ebay, i def recommend itt

I've heard bad reviews of them. You get what you pay for. Spend the extra $ and get a CM or Exedy Stage One, or if you're broke get the Exedy Stock replacement.

If the stage 3 feels like stock, there's something wrong. Any quality stage 3 clutch will take quite a workout to engage/disengage. Wait a couple months and let us know how that clutch works out for you.

Get the XTD clutch, not an XTR, all though the xtr might be good,
but it's more of a knockoff of the xtd pieces.

Default XTR clutches on Ebay (TheNosR)

I payed $260 for Exedy Kit (Including pressure plate, street racing stage 1 disc, release bearing, throwout bearing and alignment tool) on ebay. You can get the same kit with a stock replacement disc for $200 on ebay. Given the labor involved when replacing a clutch, I deffinately wouldn't cut corners here. Exedy has been proven time and time again.

If your absolutely going with the off brand, I would just get the disc from them and at least get your pilot bearing, release bearing, and pressure plate from honda. And let everybody know the results.

The XTD on ebay has a stock throwout bearing with it. The Nachi or whatever it is called is OEM

Check the seller's feedback if you want to see why not to trust crappy generic clutches. Exedy, CM, Tilton or broke.

in all honesty i think a clutch is a clutch. i mean yeahh....you get what you pay for but ive looked all over for a good price on a clutch/flyheel combo even chelsea clutch (in boston) cant compete with ebay's prices and quite frankly i love ebay. i buy alot of stuff off ebay and never one have i had a problem with any of the products i got. sofar off ebay ive bought..

1.Skunk2 lowering springs - $142 shipped
2.Tokico blues - $225 shipped
3.B&M FPR - $40 shipped
4.OBX carbonfiber short ram intake - $75 shipped
5.XTD stage 2 clutch/8lb flywheel combo - $235 shipped
6.Energy suspention shifter bushings - $11 shipped
7.Neuspeed lower tie bars front and back - $40 shipped

how could you compete with these prices? and all these were shipped within one weeks time and never has a package come damaged.

my buddy has a XTD stage 3 in his D16z6. We put it in back in April. and it It slips at 10lbs of boost. and its a Stage3 thats suppose to handle alot more from what it claims.

I suggest saving up and getting something more reputable like Exedy, ACT, or competition.....

XTD's work well. Track proven on slicks with no issues.
