Your cruise control has nothing to do with your horn. IF you are talking about the JDM SRS wheel, if you haven't destroyed the cable reel, the horn will work same as stock.....just plug the connector in. Like I said the cruise control will not mount on the JDM wheel. There is a velcro panel on the side of the JDM wheel. I have my cruise connector conveniently located behind it and if I am on a long drive I plug it in and velcro my cruise buttons to the side of the steering wheel. If I wanted to be creative I could permanently mount the buttons but in doing so I would decrease the value of the wheel.
Furthermore, regardless aas to whether or not you have your cruise hooked up, your horn should still work.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Look at 23-255 of your helms, you will see that the cruise control and the horn share a common wire. If you unplug the set/resume switch without using a jumper to maintain the horn circuit, the horn does not work.
You have to join those two wires for the horn to work.

I am not saying the horn will not work without cruise, all I am saying is if you had cruise originally, and you unplug the switch, you have to jump to wires to get the horn to work. If you did not have cruise orginally, there is already a jumper on there, so you just plug in the horn wire (+) and you are good to go.

go figure, gsr's come with cruise, at least mine did. I don't have my cruise buttons hooked up all the time and it works regardless.

edit: my horn works regardless

Are you talking about the wires that plug INTO the cable reel or the wires coming out of them? If the molex connector is not plugged into the cable reel, then I can see where that would be a problem....

informative post, but doesnt help much being as that the JDM wheel has 2 red wires, and I dont want to connect the wrong red on and blow the bag.......

anyone know the difference between the wires? or how to tell them apart.

In other words, I'm going to bring this post back to life.

Is there a way to figure out which of the two red wires is the positive and which is the negative?

Trial and error?

Just kidding

PS dont use a multimeter on the air bag, you could set it off.

Im bringing back this thread as well....plan on doing this soon, is it safe to say that if you looked at both clips the came way
(1 US clip with 3 wires)
(1 JDM with 2 red wires)
that simply removing the clips and swaping them would work? attaching the wires the exact same way, except the middle wire, which doesnt exsist on the JDM wheel?

So how do we figure this out?

This thread is very informative and it would be great to have an answer. Comp97GSR, do you have pics of the modified clock reel as well? They seem to be down, and this is really good information to have.
