This whining is driving me nutz please help. My Integra
So when I start up my car theirs no whining noise, as I drive normally. I started to notice that theirs a whining noise coming from the engine bay. Only the noise happens when I my rpms hit between 2,800-3,500rpms then stops. Idling theirs no whine. My car is 95 Acura integra ls 1.8 dohc non-vtec B18B1

power steering or alternator are the two most likely sources, have someone rev the motor while you have your hood open and checking the engine bay, easy way to track it down.

To be perfectly honest any rotating assembly that uses a bearing can give you a whine noise when the sound is rpm dependant. Distributor, a/c idler pulley, alternator, power steering, water pump, timing belt tensioner, accessory belts (3), transmission bearing etc. So unless you stick your head under the hood you will never track it down, it should be easy to track down if you go looking for it.
