What Coilovers are everyone using?
I just bought a 1999 GSR. And want to throw on some coilovers. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with the Tein Basic, Tanabe Sustec Pro s-oc Type II, or Omin Power coilover units? I am trying to decide on one of them. This car is mostly going to be used for daily driving with the occasional touge run and autoX days. So, any advice? Thanks.

I love my GC's and Koni Yellow's. I also bought the top hats for extra travel. They were more than worth the money. I also bought st front and rear sway bars. The car is a whole new machne. It acutally rotates instead of pushing, sliding or leaning.

I wonder what went wrong with your past setup. I have Koni/GC setup and it is cool.

i dont care to go into it because everyone on here is like "no ******* way GC is the greatest product since condoms, you are wrong, you did something wrong" blah blah blah. my experience with their product was negative, i recommend progress auto

i have the teins basic and i love them. my car is slammed. the car drives great and for me its very comfortable. i would recommend them.

If you could post or pm the info that would be great. I am thinking of switching from my comptech springs to 400/450 gcs.

Discontinued Tein HA for a Type R on my GSR.
It's been daily driven for 5 years now. Still stiff, eventhough I know I'm speeding down the wear process since I'm slammed and there's barely any shock travel.
EDIT: Tein Basic = Garbage. You can't even adjust the shock dampening. It's basically what it says... The most basic full coilovers you can get.

if its built right to begin with you shouldnt need dampening adjustability

If you havent had both the koni yellow setup with gc's and tein ss coilovers on your car, why are you arguing that one is better than the other, you don't know for sure.

What about for street vs. track use? Not everybody wants to be on full stiffness riding down a bumpy road, but if you take your car to the track or even for a spirited drive, going to a stiffer setting would be a plus.
