All original engine and transmission internals. No big deal really, just gotta take care of it. And yes I still wind it out to redline every now and then.

original head gasket? Are you SURE it's the HG leaking? Most often it's something up above that area that's leaking.

Well yes assuming you don't just use it as a putt putt mobile.

It is the head gasket. All the upper gaskets are new and there are no wet spots. I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, so enough about my motor. I was just trying to help him out. It is a common problem on a high mileage motor. I will post a picture of mine if that helps the OP to prove mine is coming from the same spot and mine is the headgasket.

i saw oil in that area of my old gsr that was an oem rebuild with new bottom end etc and thought headgasket too.
ended up being the spool valve filter/gasket of course. that and the cam plug are the common suspects.

I didn't mention earlier that when I had the oil in the same place, I replaced the main VTEC solenoid gasket, dist. o-ring, and cam end plug at the same time, but that didn't fix the leak. Then I replaced the other, smaller VTEC solenoid gasket and that seemed to fix it. #12 is what most people replace, but #14 is what fixed my leak.

i had oil in the same spot it was my vtec solenoid and my distributor O ring. In my case i replaced my head gasket just to find that out. Also looking at your second pick it looks like its the vtec solenoid gasket that mates to the head.

Yeah I guess I'll just replace all of those gaskets again. And see if that kills it. Should i use honda bond on them?

i wouldn't. usually these rubber gaskets become hardened over time. that's what causes them to leak. just be sure all surfaces are clean.. and o ring is lubed, of course

according to this picture... can any1 please tell me the oil pressure specs under vtec at this bolt??? i hooked up a oil pressure gauge and got 25psi when vtec engaged, but cant hear/feel cross over. is this result not enough oil pressure to push the pins and lock the rocker arms?? if not.. what can be causing it to be so low??? please help :/ i cant realy start a new post on this cus im still kinda a new member

That port can quickly be used to check the solinoid operation and health. When vtec is engaged, pressure there should be same as or close to oil press at the stock sensor location. Somewhre between 50 and 80. Depends on the age of the filter and pump. Its possible that the small filter is clogged or the solinoid isn't operating correctly. Pull it off and check the filter and you can put 12 volts to the solinoid and watch it operate.
