if i take my valve cover off do i have to change the gasket? because i took it off and adjusted my valves and put it back on with the same one and there are not any leaks that i see. Any Thoughts

Re: Valve Cover (RGK500)
Ive taking mine off plenty of times to do valve adjustments and never changed my gasket. As long as u have it tucked in the groove of the valve cover and its not ripped u should be good.

Re: (Tizight)
Do you have to replace it everytime you take off your valve cover?
EDIT: Nevermind I just saw the post above. |

Just make sure you wipe down both the gasket AND the head where the gasket goes with brake cleaner. You don't want oil there when you put the gasket back on. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |

Sometimes you get lucky if it doesn't leak, but just make sure you use Honda bond around the corners, but it would also be a better idea to get a new gasket. It's pretty cheap like $20 max @ Honda dealer.

You don't need a lot, just a light coating at those corners. |
Re: (Dunc)
What about around the spark plugs. I pulled one of the spark plug wires out today and there was some oil on it. is it possable that i did not set it on strate because there is also some oil on the back of the cover where the washer and the nut is. and it also did not seam like it was lineing up on the two center studs.

Re: (RGK500)
The sparkplug ones can go bad easier then the one around the cover probably,
I bought a vc set just because of oil on the top of the plugs. |
