usdm type-r vs. aftermarket exhaust
i currently have a usdm ITR exhaust on my integra. thinking about purchasing a greddy SP, just the muffler so it would bolt on with my ITR piping. would there be any gains, or would it just be louder, so basically i am asking if it is worth purchasing the muffler? thanks

a bigger muffler isn't going to give you any noticable power and for the matter any power at all. upgrade your entire catback or keep it stock. all your going to do is just make it loud and ricey . if you want performance then upgrade your entire catback. if you want to hook up the exhaust to a stock itr catback then you might as well just throw 150 bucks in the water, watch it sink....because it will show the same gains as the muffler showed you. I say stay with the stock muffler system. but if your going with a motor setup (cams, header, etc. then upgrade your exhaust system.)
my suggestion: definately don't put that muffler on there

Yep, don't put that muffler on there....
I also think that if you are really concerned with performance in the first place, why get the ITR? If they ITR was so great, ITR guys wouldn't upgrade.

the greddy sp won't bolt on to an ITR b-pipe anyways. the hangers from the b-pipe would be in the way. i would just upgrade to a full cat-back. if you wanna do it for looks... go ahead and chop and weld but don't do it for performance gains because there won't be any

I think your best bet is to look in the classified sections. They have a lot of things for sale. Good luck on your tuning....
