98 LS turbo // general quiestions //
i just bought a 98 ls and i have a few quiestions about turboing the stock engine. how much boost "safely" is the lower end going to hold on the stock internals. and what do i need to do to the computer to get the car to not spaz out when i hit boost.
i have never used forced induction before so im rather green on the subject. any sugestions or general knowledge would be great.

If you want "safe", it all depends on your turbo. Usually a stock LS block can usually handle 8-10psi safe. But depending on the turbo size. Running 8-10psi will usually run you 230-270WHP with a good tune.
Just tune the car and you will not spaz out when you hit boost.

I have read and I have learned many times haha. He was talking on stock internals, he wasn't talking about having the bottom end modified before he slaps a turbo on it.

you can get some pretty decent numbers from a stock ls. look in the forced induction forum. there's guys there, bone stock ls pushing 380 hp. as it was already said. get it tuned.

I did read it just fine, theres to many factors in a setup to accurately say this. And the numbers are amazing that u pull out of no where. Yes u said which turbo u use, cool. But where did u get 8-10psi and 230-270whp?? Theres lots of LS setups in the turbo forums running much higher whp on stock internals SAFELY.
