tranny probs with my 93 integra, please help with some advice...
ok guys..here is the situation...my car went in the shop on monday to have the tranny pulled, rebuilt, and new clutch, etc...BTW i got the Exedy organic racing clutch and my mechanic thinks its garbage, but anyways...the tranny is REALLY shot, from what he showed me, 3rd gear was the big prob, so he's getting back to me on prices for what he need to rebuild it with....at the same time, he showed me that one of my CV boots was torn, so thats more money....and one axle is pretty shot, so thats even MORE money...another thing was the shifter i have in there....its a DC sports short shifter...he said it fits terribly in there and tore up the small bushings all around the shifter, etc....so i'm considering just going back to my stock shifter, what do you all think i should do? and as far as the tranny is concerned, the rebuild is gonna be expensive, but would it be a better idea to just try to find a used one, or just rebuild it because i know i'll be getting a good tranny with new parts inside it?
help me out here guys, tell me what you think....

way too much. get a ys1 gsr tranny from a 92-93 for about 6-800, youll like the accel much better, then get a clutch(i like clucth master stage 3) for about 300. axel 100, and do it your self. if u dont do it dont pay more then 3-500 install

the $2000 includes everything man, i'm not getting fucked, to rebuild a tranny like new costs some dough, i'm rebuilding practically everything, plus new axels, new clutch, and install of everything, plus a few other minor things...
the question is now, should i keep my DC shifter or go back to stock..?

the problem with the everything is that you are unfortunately NOT doing this yourself.
i myself bought a *used* 93 GSR YS1 trans that was supposed to be in good condition, but started grinding 3rd, 5th, and reverse pretty badly. so i rebuilt it.
with my $60 helms and a decent set of tools, i was able to rebuild my 93 GSR YS1 tranny MYSELF (this was my second trans rebuild). all i paid was the price for the gears i replaced which were 1-4 and then i got a 94+ GSR 5th. i replaced ONLY the gears that have the synchro mesh teeth on them.
i know that all said those gears totaled somewhere in the neighborhood of <$600 (purchased NEW from Mike K @ Naples). (i've honestly completely forgotten the price though.) not to mention the synchro and bearing rebuild kit i bought from trans star that was somewhere around ~200.
so for ~860, i have a LIKE NEW cable tranny (which i also dropped my Kaaz LSD into ). it cost me plenty i know, but it was worth it to me for the state of mind that i have a good condition trans, though i'm sure others might disagree.
as far as your quoted price, how much of that is JUST the trans??

i dont really know how much for JUST the tranny rebuild, i know its expensive tho...i figure, the labor is a pretty penny too....but the clutch was 300, plus axels, dont know how much they are, but i wanna guess somewhere around $1100 for just the tranny, labor and parts...not sure tho...
