Re: Temp Issue (Civicracer17)

is it just the light? or do you not feel any cold air blowing? could be a a light out.

as for the temp gauge, first thing I thought of was connections to gauge/meter or thermostat possibly?

Re: Temp Issue (Vero)

well, if your getting no heat and the temp gauge is going nutty then your themostat might be stuck open. how many miles on the car? how old is the coolant?

Re: Temp Issue (jdmotorsports)

haha, im in maine right now... i just posted this SAME thing like 2 days ago... my heat works, but after driving 14 hours from virginia, my engine started reading that it was cold... anyway, everyone just told me its the thermostat.

Re: Temp Issue (ejmatzell)

it probably is a thermostat related problem, but integras are known for running on the cold side

CRR 2 Mar 20, 2006 01:20 PM

same thing happened to me replaced thermostat problem was solved

Kicklow Mar 20, 2006 01:29 PM

Re: (CRR 2)

if you cant get a new thermostat right away....i know its ghetto, but zip tie from cardboard or plexiglass in front of your bumper...it will deflect the direct of cold air allowing you to run warmer

Civicracer17 Mar 20, 2006 03:41 PM

Re: (Kicklow)

It blows Cold Air all the time... If the car is sitting it will get up to Temp but cold Air blows.. There is 144000 miles on dont know how old the Coolant is

Vero Mar 20, 2006 05:02 PM

Re: (Civicracer17)

so if it is always blowing cold air, you cant yet rule out A/C not working.

I think the hot air issue needs to be addressed before the A/C issue right now.

Re: (Vero)

replace the thermostat, and do a coolant flush/fill.

Civicracer17 Mar 20, 2006 06:59 PM

Re: (jdmotorsports)

How do I get all the Coolant out of my car? I know the drain plug but will that drain everything?

jdmotorsports Mar 20, 2006 07:50 PM

Re: (Civicracer17)

the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator and the plug on the block.

Re: (jdmotorsports)

ok changed the Thermo and Did a Flush.... The Air is a Alittle warmer but not like it should....what is next guys

Re: (Civicracer17)

replace the thermosostate and coolant also and bout your ac it might be cause of the ambient temp up at maine wont allow the condensor and orfic tube to cycle and turn state of the freon also since the air is so dense already the ac wont do nething

how long did it run for? sometimes it can take a while to warm up. Um, make sure no air in the coolant.

Re: (Vero)

I bleed the coolant but I'll do it again tomorrow I have driven the car for 30 minutes and the car gets up to temp now but no hot air...plus I'm in Ct now

Re: (Civicracer17)

When you operate the controls for hot or cold, there is a corresponding valve that is actuated near the firewall. This valve lets the hot coolant (oxymoron) into the heater core which will allow the air to be heated. I would check this valve and or the controls or linkage that operate it.
