tanabe vs. greddy
Ive been looking at exhausts for a while now for my teg and ive narrowed my choices down to the greddy sp2 and the tanabe hyper medallion. With these exhausts being similar its tough to decide which one to go with. I want yalls opinion on which one i should go with and why. Replies will be appreciated

I like the greddy sp2 over the tanabe. Less raspy tone for my taste and a lil nicer looking imo.
I had the sp2 on my old civic, but got the evo for my integra. Loved them both.

Greddy sounds like crap, there another tread talking bout the greddy exhaust.
BTW go with the tanabe racing medallion sounds amazing. pretty much like stock on the highway with the silencer in.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I actually got to hear a greddy sp2 in person the other day and it sounds good but i want something a tad louder. Is the tanabe louder than the greddy?

if you put headers and a test pipe, it will be louder. i too prefer my greddy.

Re: (D JDM DC2)
Tanabe Hyper
1. Looks better
2. Sounds better
3. Straight through muffler design performs better as compared to the WS.
4. Almost just as quiet.
5. Better build quality.

Re: (RobbieDB)
Everyone is going to have their own personal preference when it comes to exhausts. I've never tried the tanabe, but I've tried the first gen greddy sp....and although I loved the tone, it was poorly made and designed. I went through 2 systems within 2 years due to them falling apart internally or at the welds....are their customer service did NOTHING for me. I think because of soo many people experiencing the same problems, they designed the sp2 which is stainless steel. Not sure what they changed inside the muffler section except the rolled edge on the tip. I've been much happier with apexi exhaust systems. The n1 and the ws2.

the greddy sp is also a straight through design. i've opened mine to gut it.

And I bet it now sounds like *** and is loud as CHIT! I did the same thing to my greddy sp1 once it started falling apart on my internally.

my car sounds beautiful and quiet, until i hit full boost, and at that point, that's all that's heard with a greddy tone. sounds like rx-7 as it spools up, actually. i can understand where you're coming from if it was n/a, but it's not, and its been the best sounding exhaust i've had.
mind you, i was just making a point about it being a straight through design.

Ive had tanabe super Racing Medallion and Greddy evo2. If you want Some rasp and a louder exhaust go with the evo. But if you want a more smooth sounding exhaust go with tanabe. Most people say the evo is too raspy. I loved my evo. Sold my tanabe to get it. but hey I liked loud and raspy at the time. Now I want something more like DC sports.
