sunroof flew off
it was a hot day here in sc.... after washing my car, i decided a little run was in order. Well i got to 120 and my sunroof flew off. It was not even open... after looking for it for a while i had other things to take care of. So my question is instead of buying an integra sunroof glass panel, would a civic one fit? There are many more at lower prices on the market and can find one locally instead of paying for additional shipping.. I know its a long shot, but any chance of it fitting?

Re: sunroof flew off
I also live in SC and frequently have to use my sunroof on my teg but I've never heard of this happening, good luck with finding a replacement.

Tracks are still there.... the weather stripping was in the middle of the road...
I only have pics of the weather stripping because my car is not at my house because I dont have a garage But *IF* I find it, its a good chance its not broken due to over grown grass.
edit: pics

Re: sunroof flew off
this is stupid 80% of integra and civic parts are interchangeable.... but 1 pane on glass will not fit
oh well
Edit: photos
a Little rust here but nothing drastic that would effect it enough to fly off i don't think....

hahaha that sucks!
bet you had your window open and the pressure in the cabin from all that speed just blew it off, like a cork in a champaigne bottle!

Re: sunroof flew off
i would think that unless it was installed wrong at one point or if you track is bad, that it shouldnt just fly off. id take a closer look at the track the brackets from the glass might still be on there or there may be damage from the glass ripping off.
id suggest not doin 120 for the hell of it, it can be dangerous and expensive

Re: sunroof flew off
The glass piece is held in with "window weld", same stuff that holds the windshield and rear side windows in place.
The mess I see on the sunroof, [looks like grease] does look a lot more like grease then it does window weld, the glass has been replaced at some point and done improperly, not using window weld or no promoter used. 94
