something wrong with breaks?? PLEASE HELP!!

can someone tell me whats wrong with my breaks?? most of the time they work fine. but every once and a while it seems like there loose. when i hit the break pedal it goes almost all the way to the floor before the breaks start to slow down the car. then i let go of the break and there back to normal. this doesnt happen often almost like once a day but its pretty scary when you hit the break and noting happens when it should. any one know what this could be, i was thinkin maybe there could be air in the breaking lines or someting?

How old is your car. This sounds like what my car was doing when I needed to replace the brake master cylinder. Though it may just be old brake fulid boiling. Does it ever happen the first time you use your brakes after letting the car sit, or does it happen at random intervals?

The master cylinder is going back. It has an internal leak. Replace it as soon as you can.

I am with fastbrakes on this one, replace your master cylinder and do it soon, it will only get worse and it will get worse very quickly.

Yep. My G2 brake M/C went south right after 100,000 miles.
