yo guys i currently have a skunk2 intake manifold (version 1) on my B18C1.
i have 96 spec ITR cams as well. im still running the stock 60mm throttle body.

does anyone kno the inlet opening size of the old skunk2 IM?

need some help deciding.
is it worthwile to upgrade the TB to a bigger blox 68mm TB???
or should i look to do a mod elsewhere.

The skunk2 IM should have an inlet size of 64mm.

i kno its better than my stock 60mm, but am i goin to feel the difference ??

off the top of my head i was thinking it was 65, but 64 could be it to, i have the version 2 pro series, but i don't know if they are the same.

I would not bother with a larger TB 60 is more than enough a 60 MM should flow well over 400 CFM a 1.8L at 8,000RPM and 100% VE is only pulling a little over 250 CFM the only thing it is going to do is make your gas pedal feel more touchy.

That's odd, because people have seen HP gains from a slightly larger TB and a skunk2 IM.

I'd have to imagine that it's partly due to the fact that while ( assuming your numbers are correct ) a 60mm can flow 400 CFM and a b18c1 only needs a max of 250, if the inlets are a little bigger it allows for an easier airflow delivery.

Look at a 2.0 dodge neon the 5 speeds only have a 48mm throttle body and make around 130 HP the problem is not the TB but the intake manifold H.O. 5.0s make 225 and are 60mm the cobra makes 350 and uses a 65mm so I think 65 is over kill on a motor that’s only going to make under 200HP other parts are the bottle neck like cam and intake ports or intake manifold.

ok so a 64-65mm TB would do me well on my IM then right????
if my IM inlet is 64-65mm then i should see gains.
becuz im thinkin that my stock 60mm is a bit stiffling for my intake.

the only reason i would change the TB is to correct the way it pulls. gsr TB's look gaudy on single runner manifolds since the cable catch is sticking up. since you have an itr copy intake manifold and itr cams, the only place i would look is the valvetrain and exhaust. have you put yellow springs on the intake side and your blue gsr intakes on the exhaust yet? you should if not. there is some power to be had cutting the back off your intake and porting the runners to line up perfectly with the head, the exhaust is another power place. other than that, enjoy the car.

can i bore out a gsr TB 60mm to ITR TB size 62mm??

the version 1 GSR IM is only 63mm, one bigger than OEM. I ran a 65mm TB on it and made more power and better throttle response. I wouldn't go bigger than 65.

nah speedy, OEM ITR throttle body is 62mm, u mite hav an aftermarket one

thats USDM, JDM is bigger then USDM. That is why my throttle body matched up perfectly with my manifold, and no its not aftermarket, i took it directly off a jdm itr head with type r intake manifold.

not it isn't. same part number. both are 62mm. im sure your eyes can't detect a 1mm difference.
