Age or just rough use, think about it you use it every time you get in the car or at least you're supposed to. The junkyards are great to find them 5/6G civic ones work too.

They are NOT. There is NO law that requires them to do ANYTHING once the factory warranty runs out, not in the US or in Canada.
The lifetime seat belt warranty is a POLICY of American Honda. Honda Canada has different policies, so the American Honda warranty does NOT apply north of the border.
Plus, the lifetime warranty covers functionality ONLY, and is NOT VALID if the vehicle has been in a collision. And they do check to see if there is evidence of collision damage.
Cosmetic issues are NOT covered under the lifetime warranty, so plastic covers falling off are not warrantable unless they prevent the assembly from being fastened correctly.
