how you tell if its a JDM tranny....
I would like to know how you can tell that its an JDM transmission or not, or how to read the little sticker with the numbers y80..... thanks

Well, the way I can tell is a USDM tranny makes a "WAAAAAA!" sound when you romp on the gas while a JDM tranny makes a "WAAAAAA-SAN!" sound..
Seriously, I don't believe there is a way to tell just by looking at them. But if someone else knows differently please correct me.

It might help you a little.
I'm almost positive that if you have an OEM LSD in there, there are the letters "LSD" on the tranny near the code.

by cracking the tranny open and measureing gears and counting teeth. Anyone could swap housings, gears, ect.
