DA Integra header crossmember question
I just got my jdm 4-1 header in, i have the crossmember but i cant fit this other thing that bolts in the middle of the crossmember and goes under by the engine... Do i NEED to have this part on? I have to bend out the crossmember and this part just hits the header like crazy... just wondering... thanks

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question (matman4444)
the cross-member is hitin the headers ?and if you are talking about the peace under the engine i don't know if its a good idea to take it off , you never know if you motor mounts want to take a **** , you don't want your engine dragging on the ground just my .02

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question (mEr)
yeah i think all the jdm 4-1 hit the crossmember, the guy at the shop said he didnt think i needed the other piece but i really wasnt sure... but where the header is touching the crossmember its a pain trying to bend it out so it doesnt touch... i dunno i might have to take the whole thing off and just cut it

why dont you just get a grinder and make an indention in the crossmember instead of takin it off? i mean im not sure if grinding/cutting away some of it will still make it strong, but it'll be alot stronger then having nothing

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question (..::91TEG-G2::..)
There is a tutorial on g2ic.com on cutting a section of the crossmember out to fit the 4-1. You should see a ridge on the crossmember that you can cut, just notch a 4 inch piece out of the crossmember and your clearance should be fine.
I think on g2ic you have to search under 'notch crossmember' or something

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question (purplegsr)
yeah im good on the crossmember i just bent it in, but im talking about the part the connects to the crossmember and then goes across the bottom of the header and connects somewhere under the engin, the crossmember part was real easy

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question
The other bracket that covers your engine from cross member to end of header point? I wouldn't recommend removing those kind of chassis parts. Do a little more search on the DA, and you'll have some luck on what to do.

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question
for the 4-1 to fit i think you need to cut up the crossmember a bit, not a big deal, or just buy an aftermarket one that has much more clearance

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question
ah wait, i see what youre talking about i think. the part that connects the front and the back... part 1 in this diagram i guess? http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no
anyway, if that is the case, you dont need it, i run mine without it and its fine.

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question
i have a little concern with this. i just got a jdm dc2 grs header from my buddy and installed it. its only a 4-2-1 header but the 2 section's diamiter is larger than the stock ls one and i could not bolt it up with the crossmember in. after looking at it i noticed it also helps by locking it in with the steering rack and radius rods that align your front lower control arms.
also when i noticed that when i have my car is raised up on its front jack points (on jackstands), when i have tried to bolt that bar up and the holes would not line up. the front end of the car would sag down. so ever time i jacked the car up would this trow off my alignment? when my car hits a bump does this make the front end flex a little causing my suspension to get knocked out of whack? i plan on notching this bar and i wanted to brace it on the other side with a piece of 1/8 inch steel that will fit in the little pocket on the other side of the brace. any input on this concern?

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question
You need the front cross member for the Tire rods if im not mistaken. Like everyone said just Cut it and it will fit just fine, Mine happened to fit just fine with the DC JDM 4-1 Header (93 Teg) , didnt have to cut anything it just a really tight fit.

Re: DA Integra header crossmember question
could it be because this header came from an automatic gsr? the swap was bought for a guy who wanted his car built with a automatic trans cause he is in a wheel chair. would the automatic trans make the header have to be different?anybody have access to japanese part #'s to find out if there was another header for these motors? im just curious. im happy with the car because i had the exhaust built to fit that header.
