Reaplacing clutch.... smoking battery wires
95 Acura Integra LS 1.8
I was replacing my clutch and flywheel. When i was pretty much done i tried to hook my battery back up and the wires started to smoke. i tried to disconnect them asap but before i could the post clamp had melted the positive teminal a little. I'm assuming i mixed a ground with a hot wire some where but where?
What would cause this to happen? Any pictures from factory manual would help.

How about the obvious, the red wire goes to the positive terminal and the black wire goes to the negative terminal.
This reminds me of an old post where everyone was giving this guy pointers on why his wires kept smoking and blowing fuses. After about 20 posts I posted the above message and he did indeed have the wrong wires on the wrong battery terminals, lol. But I have to hand it to him, he was honest and admitted his mistake.

Re: (Sam92Teg)
check and make sure you didn't turn the power cable into the starter housing while tightening the nut. Wire can't touch anything but that stud otherwise sparks will fly.
