Rattle sound...please read...header and heat shield rattle ruled out.
I drive a '94 Integra LS. There is a rattling sound coming somewhere from underneath the front of the car. I'm not sure what it is...i lifted it and shook all the pipes but couldn't find it.
*I know it's not the 'Integra Header Rattle' because I'm using a new DC 4-2-1
*I know it's not a heat shield rattle because none of the piping is even close to any heat shields. I'm running a straight pipe which is a lot thinner than a cat so it's not the cat shield definitely
Here are the symptoms:
*Rattle does not begin until I have driven around for about 5 minutes
*Rattles CONSISTENTLY between 1.7k and 2k RPMS
*Stops the instant a go below 1.7k or above 2k rpms
*Rattle got louder AFTER I changed out the stock header for the DC 4-2-1
*Very irritating
Any help is appreciated as always...

Header support bracket?
Flywheel scatter shield?
Catyltic Converter chunck broken off?
Shift linkage loose bolts especially by at the shifter?
for the record the pipes don't have to be close to the heatshields to cause rattling, they deteriorate over time and as that happens the shields usually rust out or break where the bolts that hold them in, then when you rev the vibration causes a slap happy condition with the heatshield. Try tapping the heatshields to see if they resonate...

That is a very common problem with our cars. Mine does it above 3k to about 5k. I removed my ex mani shield, have a test pipe with no shields and have tested all the other shields. None seem to rattle. It is loud enough to sound like something on the outside of the car, definitely superficial. Pisses me off, sounds like junk.

Re: (Six-n-twins)
I've got the same thing, but mine is prettymuch from idle up until 3500k. It's also toward of the front of the car as far as I can tell, I think that one of the mount for the pipe or one of the heat shields has to be the cause. Have you lifted up the whole car and inspected the undercarriage?

Yep, I've had my car off the ground and inspected every inch of the shields and pretty much any other obvious cause. I know there are about 2 million threads about this topic. They all seem to say that it is the heat shield of the OEM header/; mani. I even took a hammer and tapped all possible causes to recreate the noise. Yes, it's at the front car too.

I have the same problem with my DC header. I thought it was an exhaust leak, but I've changed all the gaskets, and the problem is still there!!!

Re: Rattle sound...please read...header and heat shield rattle ruled out. (HondaCutter)
Problem solved:
I found out that the part of the exhaust piping that welds to the resonator was cracked. I went to my local muffler shop, got it re-welded, and now the sound is completely gone. I think it got louder after I installed the DC header because of the pushing around of the pipes that i had to do to take on/off the catalytic converter.

10 bucks yo. All they had to do was weld it and that took like 5 minutes.
