Default power steering belt tension

how do you guys measure the tension of the belt so it's correct? i know you can use a belt tension gauge (which i don't have) or apply a 22 lbs of force and measure the deflection of the belt. i'm not too sure how i'm suppose to apply exactly 22lbs of force. anyone with any tips/tricks? thanks.
