Powdery stuff inside intake pipe - normal?
I just bought this intake pipe off eBay for a replacement for my car and it came with all this white powdery stuff on the inside of the pipe. I called the shop I bought it from and they told me it's normal and that it wouldn't affect my engine. I kept insisting that it would affect my engine and they simply told me the powder is there to prevent deteriorating of the inside of the pipe. Is it safe to put this pipe on my car?

Yes just run a rag/towel through it with a wire and wipe it out good.

Re: (AllMotorGSR94)
well, if its an aluminum pipe, that is what happens to aluminum when it oxidizes. A whiteish film forms on the surface.
