oil light keeps flashing!!!
 

just as of yesterday my oil light has been flashing....my car runs fine...and it doesnt need anymore oil, but the light keeps flashing every now and then....whats going on???

Maybe you should check it agian to make sure it doesn't need oil.

so i added a lil bit of oil and now its a bit over the top line....so im sure it has enough oil now.....

The oil light probably comes on when you take some fast corners then the oil settles back down causing the light to turn off.

That light doesn't mean low on oil. It means low oil pressure. That's usually caused by being low on oil but it can be caused by a few other things. A failing oil pump maybe or gunk built up in oil passages

so i guess its time for a new oil pump...i dont think they changed the oil pump when they did my swap

well before you go swapping out oil pumps, there are other things that will cause low oil pressure. Check the sending unit. Any CEL?

check the wire that goes to the oil pressure sensor. Mine got loose and was causing the light to flash randomly.

i took a look at the engine...and it seems as if it has a leak around the valve cover...im thinkin its leakin from the gasket...would that cause the oil light to flicker on and off?

VC gasket wont make the oil light come on. every car but one, that I have owned has had a leaky vc gasket at some point. and that one was a rotary so no valve cover! man I miss that car......
