take a look at the clutch kits from gripforce....they have alot of combos at great prices. i heard some horror stories from xtd. i got the exedy stg 1 w/ the 9.5 lb flywheel for $323 shipped from gripforce and i love that kit. remember u get what u pay for...

I agree you get what you pay for. I would be more worried about there flywheels.

You can get a badass clutch here on H-T in the sponsors section for about 230.00 and just have your flywheel resurfaced and you will be good.

handcommand on ebay sells oem flywheels lightened and balanced for like 150.00 or something.

I have one on my B-series and it came out to around 12.5 pounds or so. Real nice and I like it.

titanium flywheel? I dont believe they exist.

No, lighter is not always better. If you're daily driving the car, a very light flywheel can be very annoying. The revs will rise and fall very fast, making starting up from a stop difficult and jerky. Shifting can also be jerky. Plus they wont damp engine vibrations as well. You wont be able to launch the car as hard.

I'd be very careful about flywheels. Buy quality for sure. They can kill you and who ever is in your car if they explode and come out of the trans casing. It would be like a sawblade coming thru your car.

BTW is this a street car? I'm guessing it is because you're talking about break in. Why didn't you buy a street clutch? How much HP are you making?

Race clutches are called race clutches because they're harsh engaging, dont last as long, and can put a lot of stress on the rest of the drive train. Crank, trans, bearings, etc. Unless the company is posing and calling a street clutch a "race clutch" just to sell them to people who are trying to build "a racecar for the street" or something stupid.
