Need Help. knocking noise inside engine

yesterday going home on the hwy. I was doing about 60mph and i floored the gas pedal and it let off at about 130mph, when i let off i put the car in neutral and slowed down.

when i shifted back to 5th i started hearing this loud knocking noise coming from the engine bay. i thought it might of been something loose(not the actual engine)
so i kept going and noise just started getting louder and crazy, and i started loosing power and at a steady throttle it will feel sluggish and it will start farting.

so i pull over and open the hood and i realized it was coming from the engine. i got home and the noise was extremely loud and it just kept getting worse.

what could it be? -friend at work said it might be a rod and thats lost compression on one of the cylinders.

boosted gsr- stock engine (8/9 psi.)

You probably bent a rod from severe detonation from your long pull. Your timing or AFR could have been the culprit. An EGT gauge could have possibly prevented this. Did you not hear any pings? Do you have a wideband and/or AFR gauge?
Tear it down, rebuild and retune.

Crome. p28

i have an AFR gauge but i dont have wideband so its pointless. And no i didnt hear anything until after!

if it is a rod would it be better to replace 1 or all 4? Including pistons?

if i replace both pistons&rods, is it just a plug&play deal or do i have to resize, honed, etc.

what size would i need, and is it an h-beam or b-beam, i believe!

Was it chromepro?

If it was chromepro ditch it unless it's been fixed. There was a thread on pgmfi.org awhile back that went to atleast 14 pages of guys having problems and blown engines. I went through 3 myself thanks to that program. There was something about the timing, while saying it was retarding, was actually at stock or advanced a little. Cost me 3 engines and lots of guys in the states a lot of engines too.

i believe it was just crome! im not sure if it might be a tuning issue. i have been running my car like this for approx 2 years now and i've never had issues b4. can it be just time for new internals, car has over 100k!

with forged internals, if i have a slight timing or AFR issue will it affect the parts? since they are stronger?

if it helps i bought the ecu from John @ phearable.net, with crome!

Re: (jorge59la)

So i took of the spark plugs and the cylinder closer to the distributor smashed the spark plug shut, there was no gap (on the actual spark plug). the piston must of hit the spark plug and closed te gap on it. I checked the rest of them and they were all wet with gas.

any ideas? http://is.rely.net/1-92-30009-l-tEzP...BTGi0jOCgA.gif
