Default My 98 Integra GSR wire tuck "attempt"

Typical GSR, cluttered and time for a rebuild after 270k miles (270,000)….

Sending it out to be machined

Meanwhile the engine is sent out I’m left with this!!!!

I never did a wire tuck before so I did my research and planned out a wire tuck while the engine is out and since I have an account here I just thought I should post my progress and hopefully you guys could give me advice or give inspiration to a future HONDA HEADS… my plan is to keep my ABS, AC, and power steering, not sure of cruise control yet and have my fuse box inside. All I know about wire tucks is what I read on forums...for example this guy http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...TopicID=273190
I’ve got a lot of ideas from this guy so I guess I’m almost going blind fold .... i could only work on it maybe 2 days a week for a few hours.. ok so on with the tuck

I removed everything out of the way brackets, clips, connectors. one thing I did do since I don’t know what I’m doing I labeled everything put screws back and took lots of pix..

There are 4 screws for the ABS to slightly move it since I’m planning to keep it.
I squeezed the wires out. Once all wires are free, I removed the tape and plastic around it..

What I did since there are a lot of wires I separated them all..

To get all these wires in I took out the glove box and the AC blower

Before I went any further I organized the wires

I was trying to stay away from cutting but since the connector to the ABS is too big for the hole going out of the fender side I had to cut and solder...(this was only for ABS connector so if you dont have ABS you are in luck)

since I’m hiding the wires in the fender I had to remove the
front bumper to get the fender out .. here is a link that helped me.. http://www.team-integra.net/sections...p?ArticleID=68

I found a perfect spot in the fender for the ABS fuse box

Thats all for now... Im open for any questions, comments, or sugestions see you next week

im glad i dont have abs!!. i dont know how u feel about airbags but i was able to remove my passenger one and stick my fuse box there, plenty of room and all you have to do is pop the cover out the dash to access it. im currently in the process of shaving the glue out of the engine bay and fillin in alot of bolt holes. if everything goes planed the only wires ill have to extend is to the lights and rad fan

the yellow circle in this pic is where im gonna feed my harness thru. there is a small elevated spot on the firewall there thats perfect

the red circle is where the a/c drains out, the spot i circled for the hole is right to the right of it

driver side was a little bit easier..

the wire harness for the driver side had connector that were easy to reach..

again... i organized the wires before i kept on going.. and the connectors came out easy... the only wires i cut this time were the ground wire beause it could be grounded just about anywhere..

had to remove this

and slightly bend this bracket to get access to get the wires out.

Im trying to keep as much as i can so im going to see how good it will look if I keep the wind shield washer.. found a hole ..

kept the ABS bracket and screwed it by the fender.

disconnected the power steering resovia and the plastic line...

bended the power steering resovia bracket and used another bracket the had a nut welded to it and put them together

and thats where its going to go...

i got a long enough hose to go from the rack to the power steering resovia

to keep it from moving i took this bracket ( since i wont need it there )

there it goes.... its all about recycling

i washed the engine bay good and started to paint...
first 2 coats of primer then 4 coats of gloss black

organized the wires and wrapped them up and ready to go threw a new hole i drilled

now i know i said that i wanted to keep ABS..... but... looks so much nicer without it... i did keep cruise control and power steering even though you might not be able to see it.....
tell me what u guys think... honest answers i wont get offended by opinions
