Re: My Integra GSR Transmission Build/Assembly
Okay well all my parts came in today so I got a little more done on the transmission.
Going to install a fresh clutch disc since I have it apart.
Installing the speed sensor gear.
Installing the new ring gear bolts.
Installing the supplied shims that came with the new roller bearings from syncrotech
Tapping on the new roller bearings.
Set the diff in the case to check for any binding or rubbing.
It should spin free as shown.

Also here is a little tip.

Re: My Integra GSR Transmission Build/Assembly
Went out in the garage tonight and hammered it out!! First off I have to give a big thanks to David @ Syncrotech for his help and advise!! Everything I ordered from them was great, fast shipping and quality!! After installing the carbon syncros the trans shifts like butter. Seems like no matter have fast I try and shift no grind at all!!
Set the gear assembly in place
Dont forget to remove clean and re-install the magnet located here.
Make sure the sealing surface is clean and dry before you apply your hondabond or other sealant.
Slide the top case in place, I had to wiggle it a bit to get it all the way down untill you reach the C clip.
Now use your snap ring pliers open up the c clip and tap on the case with a rubber mallet. It should lock into place as shown
You can install all the case bolts
install the 2 bolts and springs and check *****.
Before you install the plug cover make sure the C clip is engaged with the bearing all the way.
install your brackets and the reverse shaft lock bolt.
install your speed sensor, it should slide right into place.
Clean this area real good and apply some anti-seize or grease of your own choice. Then install the shift fork and throw-out bearing.
Install your new axle seals if you got them.
And that is pretty much it.
Oh and don't forget to re-fill your transmission with the correct fluid. I chose Torco MTF

Re: My Integra GSR Transmission Build/Assembly
Very informative.
I have an ITR trans to rebuild with NEW syncros and bearings as well as a 4.9 final.
Your post should help me a bunch.
I have one how question how long did it take? I know in my can I don't have to change the LSD. Just trying to get an idea of what a project like this takes.

wow. just wanna say, again, thanks for taking the time. i know how much longer it can take to log everything with all the pic taking and whatnot, and sometimes you get pretty anxious towards the end to just get it done; and you did it pretty detailed. great write-up, my friend
question though; is there any sort of break in required for the syncros? or is it just the basic clutch break in period?

I must say, you always make the best project/build threads I love when people take pictures every step of the way, and you nailed it!

Re: My Integra GSR Transmission Build/Assembly
either that, or the seal got nicked while reinstalling the axle. kinda doubt the latter, as i'd imagine you'd be pretty careful with that, knowing it was leaking before
also, did you put the seal in clean and dry? or use a sealant around outer edge where it meets the trans? and is the outer edge a rubber compound? or is it metal?

Re: My Integra GSR Transmission Build/Assembly
I put it in with a tiny bit of sealant around the edge and I was super careful during the installation too! So I'm wondering if the axle is weird?
