Is normal 3700-3800 rpms at 80mph on auto what it is on manual if anybody knows, i read that using the YS1gsr manual on this engine is basically the same but the LS manual is a bit lower on rpms, can anybody confirm by experience

damn short ratio trannys =(

ls 4k @ ~90
gsr 4k @ ~80
itr 4k @ ~70

if you want some mad free way mpg then you should find a long *** gear and swap out your 5th

but i'd imagine climbing hills on 5th w/ a long 5th is going to suck... unless you build mad speed before hand

Thats why I have 2 transmission now. One for DD until i finish rebuilding my $600 perfect conditino 98 Legacy GT. LS Great gas milage especially on the highway Im seeing about 31mpg. And my ITR with Factory LSD carbon moly syncro rings. Which i am currently deciding if i want to toss in a 5.01 FGD.
