is my battery dying or something else is up?
to make the story short.
Left the car in garage locked up. didn't move car for week or so. alarm went off many many times because its very sensitive(damn trucks).
Tried to turn car on, cranked but no go. After few tries and played around with instruments, light became very dim and honk was out.
Now let's jump to my question. After getting the hood open, We jump started the car. drove it for 10 mins(Look at the battery, no green dot). Turn engine off. Tried to start engine again and it fired up fine. left car in garage, 2 days later when I tried to start it, it hesistated for 2 seconds while holding the key down, but it started up. Look at the battery again, no green dot, black dot. It only happens when I start the car EVERY OTHER DAY, If I drive car everyday for just 10 mins, it seemed fine. If I leave the car for 3 days, I am 100% certain that car won't start.
IS my battery dying? been 4 years already, hasn't changed. could it be the alarm drained the battery first?

if you haven't changed any wiring recently it sounds like the battery is going out. They don't last forever.. I think 5 years max if you take good care of them.

Yeah your battery is dead. 10 minutes isn't enough to charge it back up fully anyway. You need to keep it runing for abot 30 minutes. Try that or get a new battery and see if that doesn't fix your problem.
If it doesn't fix it for long, you've got a battery drain. You could have it checked out or get one of those solar panels that sit on your dash and keep your battery charged for $20 .
What are you doing not driving your teg everyday anyways?

If it's the battery, is it worth it to recharge that 4 year old battery? how much is just to recharge? I know a new one cost bout 60 bucks
and how do I find out what's draining the battery if something was draining it?
any suggestion on the brand of battery?
One of you mentioned Weak alternator, Is there a way I could check that? How do I know if it's weak?

since your alarm is very sensitive i'm guessing everytime u leave your car in the garage for 2-3 days the battery gets drained a lot and thats why u can't start up the car.
but i dunno. maybe getting a new battery would be good. or try setting your alarm to be not so sensitive.

It doesn't matter how old the battery is.
Just take it to autozone and they will charge it for you for free in 2 hours.
