Default Leaking oil from shift linkage hole to tranny.

The hole with the 12MM bolt thats holds the shift linkage to the tranny. not the one with the pin. But anyways, its leaking and i ahve no idea what to think.. is my tranny garbage or is this some kind of problem that can be fixed?

You're talking about the rigid torque rod that doesn't move when shifting, that has the donut-shaped bushing in it? Sounds like your trannt case may be broken because that hole should not be open to the inside of the case at all.

Make sure it's actually coming from that hole and not somewhere else near/above it.

Yeah, The hole has the donut shaped bushing that doens't move.nope its def. coming out of that hole, when i had the motor up off the grond witht he engine hoist, and i leaned the motor a bit, the oil starts pouring out. Because i figured since that hole don'st have to do anything with the tranny, my tranny might be garbage huh?

Maybe someone tried to jam a bolt that was too long in there and it broke the case when the bolt bottomed out?

I dunno... do you notice it leaking or dripping all the time? You should probably replace the tranny case or at least try to seal it up from the inside somehow (take apart tranny case). In the meantime, you could probably just throw some thread sealant on the bolt, like maybe some teflon tape, and see if that keeps it from leaking.

It wont leak when you put the bolt back in it. Sucks that it happened but it nothing that will hinder it.

hmm, i dunno if that would cause you not to shift into gears, unless you're loosing too much oil/fluid. I assumed that once that a bolt is in that hole, there shouldn't be anymore leaks.

Honda bond is just honda's version on of grey rtv. I wouldnt think that it would be more than 7 bucks.

yeah once i put the bolt in then there are no more leaks. but i think it's something internal in the transmission for it to not shift into gear. thanks for the help though guys.
