KYB AGX users...is the softest setting stiffer than OEM shocks?
I'm running KYB GR-2's which are supposedly 10% stiffer than stock shocks. They ride well, but I want to upgrade. Tell me what to expect on the softest AGX setting, and the stiffest AGX setting.

the softest setting is slightly stiffer than OEM shocks...and I mean slightly. The stiffest setting is relatively HARD. sounds/feels like bolts were going to rattle loose off my car. I ran AGX's on Skunk2 Coils and h&r race springs. I kept mine at setting 2 all the way around daily, and went up to 3 when i wanted to play. If you get the 8 way adjustable rears, then set the rear to about 4 and 2 in the front.

I would say that the AGX's on the softest setting (1) are probably about as stiff as your GR2's. The firmest setting is a little unbearable for daily driving. It's really stiff. Feels like the shocks don't even want to compress. I'm still breaking mine in, though. I've heard they loosen up slightly over time.

i run 2f/2r on long trips but 3f/4r on a daily basis and it's stiff but not punishing. I rode in a buddies stock porsche boxster yesterday and it was rougher than my teg on full stiff.

I would say 1 is close to stock, maybe a hair stiffer. 2 is good for daily driving and 4 is what I use when I autoX. I find riding around on 4 is too stiff for daily driving, it makes me sick to my stomach on the roads around here.
I think for $$, these are the best shocks (adjustable) around. Get em, you wont regret it.

Hey I have a question for you guys? How well did your agx's handle drops of more than 2"? Also how long did the shocks last? I just need my setup (agx/spoon springs) to last until next spring

I have around a 2" drop and the shocks have only gotten better with time...the've been on for over a year and a half.

I like my AGX. I've had them with H&R sport (claimed 1.75" drop but mine ended up around 2-2.25") and set at 3F, 4R ever since they were put in and have no complaints
Now I just want something stiffer than the H&R's (ie: skunk2 or GC coilovers, unless i feel like spending more on tein or apexi)
