Re: JDM DB9 Integra AWD

NEED info on possible engine swap staying AWD (gearbox is S22 manual, transmission is similar to CRV)

Any suggestions?

If you ever have it up on a lift, can you take pics of the undercarriage? I'd like to see how that rear drivetrain is set up.

Windows down during a blizzard? (first pic)

go for a JDM honda stream AWD K20.....swap the head for a K20A2 and run K-pro or swap the whole engine for a Type R K20

In my opinion just keep what you have and boost and tune that ZC engine. It is part of the single cam D-series engine family so it has a pretty good aftermarket.

Sure I can make pictures of drivetrain. What parts (views) are important?

My teg likes blizzard and deep snow :)
Even in my place awd integra is rarity. Mine is the only one in city. There was another one on automatic trans, but recently it died knocking the front suspension out of toyota hiace van https://honda-tech.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1230952171 :boom:

I only found on my computer fotos of rear suspension & RWD setup

What other fotos or info can help? I'll find a lift & make them. Also I can post detailed diagrams from original parts catalog on my car.

That's what my question is: how to.
K20 itself surely won't fit my drivetrain. The goal is to know exactly what parts from what hondas are needed for a swap.

We got JDM 4-door DB8 integras type-R with 200hp b18c, the whole car in excellent condition (often hardly modified) costs about $3000-7000 in Japan, or $1500-2000 for 180hp integra SiR-G. But recently our lovely government :( increased customs duties to unbelievable amounts, so the only solution is to search parts to make an existing car little more powerful. Sad.

sohc zc or dohc zc? Click my sig there is a rt4wd hatch with a sohc zc and 11 pounds of boost, works great. Do you have any spare parts from one of them?

Anybody knows ZC internals potential? It must be an analog of usdm d16...
Mine is 120 hp stock.

P.S.
1. I'd like to stay N/A
2. There's almost no tuning scene (and professionals) in my area, so that's why i think about swap.

Re: JDM DB9 Integra AWD

then yours must be the sohc zc, get yourself a dohc zc they bolt up to your trans but I would suggest boost and learning to tune yourself. Everything you need is on www.homemadeturbo.com

You boosted ZC? Is it still reliable? How it handles increased torque? Reworked internals?

DOHC is good idea. I can find DOHC VTEC ZC. Though it's very rare. Anybody knows its good or bad sides?

Re: JDM DB9 Integra AWD

clink my sig, watch the videos. PM me on HMT with questions, I can help you and the dohc zc never had vtec.

Another question: my AWD gearbox is hydraulic, cable type S22 model, how much torque it handles?

And what about my rear diff? Does it like power? https://honda-tech.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1231035545
I think it's important, sometimes (for example, having fun with full throttle on ice or dirt) the car becomes almost fully RWD.

whoa that's a hell of a rear subframe! Exhaust routing looks weird, too.

how will that gear box hold up to boost?

You will cry, BUT my buddy owns stock 1993 Honda Domani sedan (civic platform model) with 130hp DOHC VTEC PGM-FI ZC.

I see you guys didn't see much JDM there. Japanese are weird people, for ex. i can't understand why do they make Mugen Odyssey? Race? :) Here in the Far East of Russian Federation 99% of cars are JDM 'cause russian cars are shit (we call em basin with bolts :) ), and european models are very expensive (about 7k miles shipping).

Exhaust is all STOCK. I just have to weld the pipe sometimes every summer :) cause exhaust gas burns it after 3 or 4 speedy runs through the highway at 160-190 kmh.

oh excuse me, my misprint clouded my brain :) thinking of one, typing another :o of course it's sohc. dohc zc is only non-vtec.

It's not my car but identical zc integra. The only difference in engine bay is that on my car ABS is bigger and located below the master brake cilinder, on this pic it's on the left from air filter box. Later i'll take pics of mine.

Re: JDM DB9 Integra AWD

I don't know for sure, but what about using the 5 speed transmission out of the CRV? I know your car is not hydraulic, but since the firewall probably has a spot for a clutch master cylinder, I would guess it could be converted. This would allow the retention of your AWD and the addition of a B series engine. I believe that the CRV transmission does have a cable linkage however, which could make things even more interesting. I never knew this car existed, but I want one...

majinsoftware Jan 3, 2009 09:18 PM

Re: JDM DB9 Integra AWD

You have a few options for engine swap and keeping AWD.
B series using CRV Transmission
Keep your D series and get a engine with some more grunt.
Or if you have money to burn get a K series.

You just have to remember Honda AWD isnt real AWD, It only puts 5% of the power to the rear. And they start breaking parts at the 250HP mark.

Would be best just to leave it how it is or get a evo setup.
