JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
Ok well heres the deal guys i baught a JDM B18c Type R im about to do the swap all myself ..i already took off the RHD harmess ..the motor is OBD2 so is my car ..im planning on using my gsr OBD2 harness..i already put it on but came across some problems the clip to alternator on the gsr harness is too big for i was thinking of cutting it & using the one off the ITR harness & rewiring ? Also theres some few things i was looking at & couldnt figure out what they went to..other then that i have it nailed ..ill post some pics & let you guys know what im talking about.
Im not sure where this little hose go to any ideas?
Also this one ive looked already in my bay & couldnt find where this goes to
Found this but have no idea where it can go to ..its on the driverside of engine bay
This is what i found on the passenger side bay that can maybe match up to either pic 1 or pic 2
& last...i saw this on the driver side by rack & pinion could it go to something ?
Thanks for some help & tips!

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
Pretty sure pic one goes to a solenoid that is mounted on the firewall, and pic 2 is for the evap system and goes somewhere to the charcoal canister. Not too sure about the plug and other pics.
As to cutting of and splicing in the type-r alternator plug, if it has the same wires then it will work.

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
I agree.. did the same with a 96 GSR. Used a newer USDM GSR wiring harness for the engine, extended the IACV, cleaned up the extras no longer used (IAB, CKF, etc) and it works wonderfully.
I capped the small vacuum fitting in the top pic. I think DA9 is right - it's all related to the JDM version of EVAP. That extra steel line that comes from under the car is a part of that (vents fuel tank through a pressure regulator to the EVAP purge canister).

This is what im tlking about

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
That's right under the VTEC solenoid right? That should be the ECT or the temp sending unit. The one we are talking about plugging is the second picture. And I don't know about the DC's but on the DA's the solenoids I was talking about is mounted on the fire wall right above the intake manifold. One is evap, one is fuel pressure related, and other one connected is MAP related. Picture #1 should go to the MAP related solenoid.

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
You can cap the line in the first pic, but I would run that to the MAP solenoid thing when you find it. Maybe your car is different though, I have a DA so I dunno. I believe the plug you are talking about in front of the tranny is either to the fan or o2 sensor. Take a picture? If this is a JDM motor then there should only be a gray plug at the VTEC solenoid. It will be missing the green one (oil pressure switch). That should help you figure out your vtec wiring situation. There are write ups on bypassing the switch.

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
If you're using a USDM ECM, you'll need to look up the CKF bypass (you don't have one) and a VTEC switch bypass (don't have one of those either!).

On that electrical connector, what are the color codes? Also, if you can get a picture looking into the connector, or tell us how many pins it has.

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
I'll be using jdm ecu jdm motors don't come with oil pressure switch so I won't be needing a bypass. & connector has two pins

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
Ok well I have clip that connects to on harness obviously but also have it coming from my engine in my fire wall along with vtec wire witch will hook up to vtec solenoid but also have the clip goes to sensor in front of tranny not the o2 sensor..

Re: JDM B18c Type R swap Questions
OKAY heres the scoop i recently pulled out my 96 ls b18b1 engine due to low compression burning oil and finnaly a rod knock . I had been saving up money for an 96 spec JDM HONDA INTEGRA TYPE R engine known as the b18CR http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8236219264/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8236219264/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90679746@N02/, on Flickr
After awaiting for the arival of my engine i decided to start pulling mine out
starting by jacking up the car removing hoses radiator harness axels and imput shaft and castle nuts to lower control arms
http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235153305/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235153305/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90679746@N02/, on Flickr
next removed all four motor mounts and lower transmission mounts and shes almost ready to come out
and finally with slight nudging and swaying I got her out.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8236217426/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8236217426/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90679746@N02/, on Flickr
Now finally the arivial of my new love I had her imported from japan thru jdm engine corporations she came fully packaged and nothing was damaged during shipment
http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235150073/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235150073/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90679746@N02/, on Flickr
next before putting her in her place i had some modifications to do.
I utilized the oil pump cover on the ls and put the type r internals into the ls oil pump cover soo i didnt have to bypass the cfk sensor at this time i removed the oil pan and windage tray to check the crank shaft for authenticity .http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235151621/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235151621/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90679746@N02/, on Flickr
After that i drilled a whole in my Intake Manifold to intall a boss for my Map sensor that ran to my evap canister soo i can have my swap legal and barred .
I swapped my ls harness onto my ITR everything plugged up fine
http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235152211/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90679746@N02/8235152211/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90679746@N02/, on Flickr
