Default JDM B16A --Power Steering Belt......

Hey
Heres the question, on my JDM b16A the power steering belt is not a v belt (grooves going longways on the belt) Its ribbed like gear teeth, Like you would see on the Timing Belt. Everytime i let out the clutch and get the car rolling like from a dead stop i hear a slight squeal. At first i thought it was the power steering rack but now that i checked the belt it sems like it should be a v-belt not a ribbed belt. I say this because i checked some pictures online. Im looking for someone who has done the belts and can tell me that my squealing could be caused by having the wrong belt.

i had a squeling noise, but it came from my aternator belt. i just tightened it and it went away. check your PS belt, maybe it's loose.

Is your power steering pulley itself a v-belt? You can go to advance or Autozone and get a none ribbed belt. Bring in the existing belt and find one similar in size.
