Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech

I've got a 2000 GSR and im gonna go supercharged soon, I've done plenty of research and I STILL cant decide between Roots style and Centrifugal, Suggestions??

Re: Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech (XITruthIX)

Around town power: Roots

Best drag times: Vortech

If you decide centrifugal just get a turbo instead.

Re: Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech (XITruthIX)

If I remember correctly, the jrsc gsr did a faster quartermile time than the vortech.

i did research on this awhile ago. i forgot what the reason that came up are, but i remember something like the vortech is really bad compared to the JRSC. Im not sure if its for imports vs domestic, or it couldve been its bad for a LS which i have. I might be posting some info that has no use to you, sorry if this doesnt help at all.

Re: Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech (XITruthIX)

Definetly go w/the jrsc. This will give you way more power w/out really changing your stock internals. It runs fine w/new plugs and wires(upgraded of course). Basically, it's cheaper, and it's not so hard on your engine. I've been researching this for the last 3 months or so and Turbos can definetly give you more power than a supercharger but it will also cost you way more, and you will have to fine tune it to put up better numbers than the jrsc.

I am saleing my JRSC now, had it for a while and ran 10 psi, it is fast, vortech sucks, either go w/ Jackson or turbo it, I am going turbo becaus I want more power, but everyday driving JR is good, I have a Delsol w/ GSR and JRSC @ 10psi and was running w/ the new lightings, and smoked GT's all day

Re: Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech (Havokmkr)

Vortech = Supercharger with turbo style lag... either go with the JRSC or go turbo. If you look at any dyno plot from the vortec, you'll see that it has great peak numbers, but no low and not very significant midrange... IMO, they just aren't right for small displacement engines.

Re: Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech (C_tech97GSR)

Go with jrsc. My buddys LS has a vortech kit on, no low end its all peak power. Its just a shaft driven turbocharger.

JRSC is better.

but a turbo kit is the best.

Jackson. The vortech doesnt make peak boost until redline. I have run 12's with my JRSC. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Jackson Racing -vs- Vortech (tegunderpressure)

I'd go with Jackson Racing, it is known to be more reliable than others like Vortech.

Why not go turbo though?

Kinda on topic my friends ls with the vortech kit just took a shit on him yesertday. Idler bearing bracket snapped off from getting to hot. So he has to take all the shit off and send it to vortech theyre gonna fix it or givem a brand new one they said.

Wat times do the Jrsc usually put out in a GSR? If i get one im looking towards to be getting low 13s to high 12s wit slicks and off header!
