Re: Irratic Idle (ferio 95)
could be fast idle control valve too. inside the throttle body are two holes, the fast idle control valve is the bottom hole, plug it up while the motor is idle...if the car starts idling normal, you'll know thats the problem.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I'm having the same problem. COULD it be the rotor? Mine has ALOT of play in it. My car is also idling irratically too. Could the rotor be the solution?

Re: (ferio 95)
fast idle control valve. mine did the exact same thing. would rise to like 3k or so, then drop, repeatedly. i just put in a new fast idle control valve, now idles smoothly at around 750-1k when warmed up

Re: (ferio 95)
yeah my car is doing this crap right now! and its pissing me off!!! Ive replaced the IAC 3 times already, so what else do you guys think it could be?? the fast idle control thing or the rotor or what?? also it doesnt start doing it until the car is a little warmed up like if its cold and then I let it sit on for about 5 minutes and then it starts.

Re: (JojoBananas)
id change both to be honest I think what may have caused the rotor to ruin its self in my case was from the idiot the motor was bough from used to wash his engine bay without covering the distributor
