Icon5 Intermediate shaft

My CVs are leaking. There's a bit of oil around that area. If I find trans fluid then it means the seal under the intermediate shaft needs replacing, right? That would be manual trans fluid? I've got royal purple in the engine and honda trans oil in the trans, so I should be able to tell the difference.

Tho I don't have much over stock hp, minor upgrades, I was talking to "insane shafts" about their 2.9 level axles. They informed me that if I need all three shafts, I should get the next model series shafts. The '94 model year intermediate shaft has an improvement. The '90 to '93 intermediate shaft had a weakness, fixed in the next model, '94-'2000.

They say I have to get all three from the '94 series or all three of the '90 series. Otherwise, they are fully compatible.

If anybody knows about this, I'd appreciate the info. I don't want to make a mistake that'll just make things harder.

In other words, mine is a cable trans, the '94 is hydraulic. Insane shafts states it's not a problem, the newer version will go without changing to a hydraulic clutch. I prefer cable and want to keep it that way.

Thanks!
