How to go about replacing GSR rod bearings?
Thank you everybody for stopping and reading I need some help!!
i have a b18c1 gsr I replaced my battery earlier in the day and I was driving it around afterwards and noticed my vtec wasn't cracking I had no launch control and out of nowhere it got real sluggish like my ecu wasn't tuned anymore or something?? and it wasn't driving to its full potential I should say. So I got home and parked it. The next day I took out to go to the store and upon acceleration and higher rpms I hear knocking. Now I'm thinking no way in hell this is my motor knocking so I pull over and at idle I hear nothing. So I push down on the throttle cable a little rev it up and I hear a deep knock coming from inside my motor like how the hell did this happen. I carefully drove it back home and parked it. Today I crack open the oil pan take everything off pull spark plugs and spin the crank check every rod and every one is solid And in place except rod #1 it barely moves but there is a tiny bit of play. My questions are how did this happen and how do I go about changing out my rod bearings, how do I replace them do I have to drop the crank, disassemble my whole motor or can I do it from the bottom. Also can I get by just replacing the bearings or is there other things I have to do or replace also. Thank you !!
