Why does my GSR shut down in the RAIN? Why?
I was driving to work this morning, in the rain, when suddenly my car just shuts off. My first hunch would be that water made contact with the CAI system and went into my engine and shut it off. But then again, I'm not totally sure.
I have a 95 GSR and this is the second time it has happened to me. Luckily, some nice lady helped give me a jump start with her Nissan Frontier. Could it be the battery? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
What a wack way to start a Fryday...

I had mine do that but i doubt its the same thing, do you have a system in? Your ground wire might be comin loose on your battery.

when my sisters alternator was dying ALL the lights would either come on or flicker on and off... then when it died it was draining the battery and when that went out too her car just died in the middle of the road... you could jump it.. but once you removed the jumper cables from the donor/jumper vehicle it would die again...
after a new battery and alternator the car was good to go...

This is a simple test he can do on his own. Just crank the car up and disconnect the battery...if it shuts off you'll know. BTW...if you CAI was sucking up water...your motor would have gone bye-bye

lol.....you have to take off the power terminal...not the negative...a car wont run without atleast the negative.......where else do you think your altnernator gets its power from.......
a battery just holds/contains energy.......the alternator produces the power....save yourself some money and get them tested with a volt/ohm meter...if you have one you can do it yourself...otherwise most parts stores will do it...
you can take your alternator in as a core for a new one and it will prob. cost you half of what a full price alternator is......BTW always remember 90% of alternators....are rebuilt...and it might take you a few times to get one that works perfect the first time...
