Honing requires oversized pistons?
I just recently torn down my engine because I was leaking oil from one of the cylinders, however, I'd like to know if I would need oversized pistons if I get a honing done on the bores because the cylinder walls weren't damaged as far as I can tell. No scratches that are noticable. Would I be able to just have it honed and be able to fit non oversized pistons from honda, because I wanted to put b16 pistons in it to up the compression on my LS motor.

yea all honing does is creat a seating surface for the new piston rings to help seat them and seal them

No, you don't need oversized pistons if all you're doing is honing. Now, if you're BORING the cylinders, you'll need bigger pistons. Honing like JEG just stated just makes it so the new rings will seat properly.

You better have the machine shop measure your cylinders before you order your pistons, cause if you order STD size pistons and rings then they measure your cylinders and they are out of round, you is SOL.

Alright thanks, yea I kinda/did order the standard size not knowing they sold over size pistons. But I'll probably get the machine shop to check the cylinders to make sure I can just go ahead with a honing and not bore it.
