Alternator whine?

that usually happens because of how your ground wire is connected. I am not sure how to fix it though, it sounds louder when you accelerate right? Like it is connected to your engine almost?

that could be the case. other factors to look into is if you have a system in there, running power and rca's next to each other will do that. if you do have a system, try running rca's and power wire on opposite sides of the car. if that's not possible replace the rca's with a shielded cable so it'll block the interference. also i've heard spark plug wires can cause the same problem. hope this helps

Unplug the speaker to see if the noise is actually coming from the speaker. If so, check the grounding of the stereo. Check where your speaker wires are going. Do they run alongside something that carries power? Maybe move them?

If the noise doesn't actually come from the speaker, you'll have to narrow down the location.

If you have an aftermarket system with an amp driving the door speakers it could be getting back feed from the alternator, check the ground at the amp.

if no amp then replace speaker. if problem persists its coming from the head unit.

If you don't have your cd player properly grounded the whine will come through your speakers in the doors. Check your wiring. Make sure there is a good connection on the ground wire.
