Help...Sticky Throttle?

I having a problem with my throttle being sticky when I first press the accelerator. If I blimp the throttle, the stickyness is gone until the throttle plate closes and its at idle, then it is back to sticky. This problem only happens when the car is on, because I tried it with the car off and the gas pedal is smooth. I also disconnected the throttle cable to see if it was that, but with the car on, I turn the throttle plate by hand and the initial turn is difficult. It seems to be stuck until you break the vacum. Could the throttle body be dirty? or Could the it be the tps?

you can use damn near anything. I used carb cleaner when i was working at ford. It would be best to go ahead and take off you TB before you try to clean it.

sounds like a dirty throttle plate........don't use carb cleaner on a throttle body fuel injected car........this is 2005 not 1975.......they have the proper throttle body cleaner at the parts store...... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

take off your throttlebody, clean as much as you can with carb cleaner, use Green 3M dish scrubber to clean off the black gunk.

If you want it like new, use 1500-2000 grit sand paper and polish it with this, works great if you want to clean up your TB like new again. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
