Default help car over heating

i have a 90 integra ls
and i have this issue with my car but listen to this story.

my d.a. fan is not running but the temp gauge is not registering any increase in temp.
so i checked my fuses while running the car and one fuse was popped, so i replaced the fuse to the car, but the thing is that when going and replacing the fuse the car started to over heat but the cluster temp did not register the overheating problem.

so i was wondering if the thermostat is out on the vehicle???
or could the fan have taken a dump???
can anyone tell me how to check this out ????

Could be the thermostat, They are quite cheap so replace that first.

If that doesnt fix it then try a different cluster.

I believe it could be the ECT sensor that would cause this. It is located on the left side of the head on my 97' RS.
