HELP! Can a breather kit and low oil levels lead to head gasket failure?
Could it be possible that my headgasket is blown from installing a breather kit from Endyn? My B20vtec was running fine before putting in the kit.
The car ran just fine after the install for about 20 mins, then I started getting mad white smoke coming out of the exhaust. It will come out randomly when I accelerate. I'm not talking about a lilttle puff here and there; I'm talking about a continous flow of thick white smoke. Cars behind me will change out of my lane! I then immediately drove back home and came to find the muffler was somewhat leaking a black oily smudge...i'm also getting that nasty black loot on the tip of my bumper
Before the install, my car wasn't even overheating- just very low on oil. The catch can was catching a lot of that oil....that thing seem to fill up fast! At first, I didn't install it higher than the "T" so maybe oil wasn't draining back to the block. I check for leaks on the block fittings, hoses, and everything's cool. I changed my oil right after and there wasn't any sign of coolant/oil mixture, no no milky white oil, just plain oil. I fix the height of the oil return hose from the catch can to the "T"...start it up, and it was still shooting out white smoke.
Can anybody tell me what could be wrong? blown head gasket?. TIA
