Default emergency brake emergency

If I'm parked on a hill and I pull the e-brake all the way up, my car will roll. It feels like the brakes just aren't grabbing, is there a way to adjust the tension?

well there is a few things that need to be checked before adjusting the cable....1st off..check the rear rotors to make sure there is not rust...this will tell you in fact that the rear calipers arent siezed...if there is no rust...how much pad do you have left...if there is plenty of pad...then inside the car..the rear section of your center consol needs to come out

Remove the consol by using a flat scrw driver and pull off the little tab cover under the emergancy brake handle..under that you will find 2 screws..remove them...then on the back of the consol you will find more smaller screws...remove them..once its lose...remove it...

then once its off you will see two cables coming up from the rear...each should have a nut at the end with a metal bracket attached to your e-brake handle..with the e-brake released...tighten each nut the same amount of turns...if you dont tighten them the same amount of turns...one side will brake harder then the other...tighten it until it feels a bit harder to pull the e-brake...test it out..if it feels like it holds the car and the brakes dont drag while u drive...then reassemble

Thanks guys, I really just think it needs to be tightened because it comes up way too easy.

I tightened the cables as much as I could.

Today I put the back end up on jackstands. One side is rock solid tight while the other spins almost freely.

Anyone know why it's like this? Or how to fix it?

I had the same problem in my 97 GSR. I had put on a re-man caliper and it was re-built improperly, I went through three (third was from a different parts store) before I got by e-brake to work properly. Or, if it is adjusted all the way, your cables could be stretched.
