E brake adjustment help
Ok so i think i need to adjust my e brake handle. When my car comes to almost a complete stop, the brakes make a weird
groan type of sound in the rear. I noticed my e brake handle has about 1/4 inch of play in it before it starts clicking. I tried tightening the adjustment nut some but seems to still have play. How is the proper way of adjusting the handle, handle up or handle down? Could this be causing the groan sound in the rear when i come to almost a complete stop?

Re: E brake adjustment help
loosen it or change your rear brakes. unless it makes a rubbing sound when just rolling no brakes applied then yes. its to tight. generally you should be able to have 1" on slack in it so its not so close to always engaging if that dont fix the problem. new pads

Re: E brake adjustment help
i think i fix the problem. ended up tightening it up and now its with in the 6-9 click spec the manual gave me and it doesnt seems to not be makin the groan sound anymore. But while we are on brakes i have a annoying squeak sound while im driving coming from pass side wheel. Sounds like a squeaking belt sound or like when you get a shopping cart with a loud squeal sound from having a bad wheel then when i press on the brakes lightly the sound gets worse but if press the brakes hard it goes away until i let off. I have brand new rotors and pads on the front. replaced pass side caliper thinking maybe it was going bad and starting to seize up. Problem went away for a fews days then came back. anyone know what could be causing this sound? Its driving me crazy.

Re: E brake adjustment help
coulda put one on wrong, could be the dust shroud, could be a rock or something between the pad and rotor, could be a warped rotor
