Default do you think 205-55-15 good on stock gsr rims?

just wondering what you guys would think of the 205-55-15 series on stock 15" gsr mesh rims, i am running on type-r suspension so height is not an issue, i just want the most thread out of new tires as i can get, my friends are telling me to go with the 205-50-15, cus they look better, but i also heard that 205-55-15 might not be compatible or safe with 15" stocks? is this true or not, let me know as i'm in the process of buying new tires soon
thanks

id say run the 205/50/15 or 195/5-/15.

the 205/50/15 will be close to the stock 195/55/15 tire and the 195/50/15 will be alil smaller diameter and will help your final drive out alil.

Get 195/55-15 (stock size) or 205/50-15 (outer diameter is 1.6 percent smaller than stock).

205/55-15 is much too big (outer diameter is 1.9 percent larger than stock) and 195/50-15 is much too small (outer diameter is 3.3 percent smaller than stock). The bigger size will probably rub, and the smaller size will throw off your speedometer and odometer by too much.

If you want longer treadlife, pick a tire that lasts longer. I'm sure you already know that, in general, the longer-lasting tires have poorer performance. But you can find a happy medium. The Yokohama ES100 tires on our GS-R look like they're going to last 40K miles (they're up to 30K and still have some decent tread left), which is longer than any other tire we've tried on that car. And they're only around $60 at the Tire Rack. This is in the stock 195/55-15 size.

Remember, narrower tires are better when it comes to snow.

If you need all-season tires, the Kumho Ecsta ASX is an excellent all-season tire, and a good value, too. Here are prices:

195/55-15:
USD65 at the Tire Rack in the U.S.
CAD120 at 1010tires in BC
CAD109 at Tire Trends in BC

205/50-15:
USD62 at the Tire Rack
CAD126 at 1010tires in BC
CAD115 at Tire Trends in BC

Given that USD62 = CAD72 right now, it would probably be cheaper to have them shipped from the Tire Rack (and pay a bit more for shipping) than buying them from your places in BC.
