Default Do we need an DIY A/C removal thread?

I know this isn't a tech question, but maybe you could allow it. I did a tranny swap on the weekend and fully removed my AC. I took pictures for a DIY write-up. I could post it up if anybody would find it helpful? This is for a 94 RS (OBD1)

?????????????????? i would have done it for $90. lol. if you had to pay someone to remove something as simple as that, you have no business being around cars, just walk away....as a matter of fact, RUN.

Damn... 115. That's a rip off. But that's how shops go. Good thing I work at one....not a mechanic though

What I seen from the guy doing it was just cut the belt, decharge the system if that makes sense, to take out the fluid (forgot the name of it) Make sure you have the garage door open, lol. Take out some of the lines, condensor, and compressor, that's all pretty much to it.

I'm actually contemplating putting a/c back in, although I would have to get a new compressor, condensor, and lines. Left it at the shop for a while and someone just threw it away or scopped it up...bastards lol.

Reason I took it out was because my turbo setup didn't fit with the type of manifold I was running. But if I put the system back in, it means I'm gonna have to get a new manifold. IDK, I guess I can live without a/c but it gets hot and humid up here though. Not exactly boosted yet though, but if I am by the summer time then it'll help keep my head occupied instead of worrying about how hot it is. Having it on kills power too....but damn, when it's humid, it's disgusting. Oh well I'll prolly not put it back in. Probably cost me too much too get everything anyway, and too much of a hassle. Rather have boost over A/C anyway
