Re: DIY: Integra door handle removal/installation/change door lock
Thanks to the OP for the write up, i recently replaced the door lock cylinders couldn't have done it myself without this write up. Also take note that I live in toronto, canada. the part number i have provided may or may not be the same for USA part stores. just ask for door lock cylinder.
My 2000 Teg had door lock cylinders that were seized. I could not use my keys to get into the car. Anyhow after looking high and low a member of
your very own Toronto integras RallyHonda gave me the door lock cylinder Part Number DL74300. $50 approx.
both canadian tire and part source have this part. I ordered mine from canadian tire here at dundas/mavis canadian tire.
pics are at that link as well. the information is below.
some notes:
The one thing I can tell you is that the first time it will take you approx 30-50 minutes. It took me longer because I couldn't find the clip that held the original door cylinder to the plastic door handle. otherwise it wasn't difficult. total for both drivers side/pass side is about 1.5 hrs.
Make sure you have the right tools. As well one other note, the part where you take the door handle and remove it from the attached metal bar does not need to be removed. Its also a pain to do it.
make sure that you tape the door around the door handles or you will scratch the paint. I used painters masking tape and it did the job perfectly.
pm me if you have questions.
